F25 – Brake Line Manufacturing

dantebook 326

I designed the full brake line routing in CAD, accounting for tight clearances around major components like the water pump, fuel tank, and suspension control arms.

Key Considerations Included:

  • Maintaining a minimum 2-inch bend radius to prevent line fatigue
  • Using angled fittings to avoid interference with heel cups (Ergonomics)
  • Including 3 inches of slack per line for motion and installation tolerance
  • Splitting routing into front and rear line assemblies for modularity

After CAD validation, I created detailed technical drawings specifying hose lengths, materials, and fittings, and coordinated fabrication with an external supplier to ensure fit and function on the first assembly.

Results:

  • Fully packaged brake system with zero interference throughout full suspension travel
  • Enhanced serviceability enabled faster, safer maintenance during dynamic testing and race prep
