During my internship with SRO Motorsport, I supported scrutineering and technical inspection across a full race weekend, covering practice and qualifying sessions. The role required strict adherence to competition regulations, consistent inspection execution under time constraints, and clear communication between technical officials and race teams to ensure safety and compliance across multiple racing divisions.
Vehicle Compliance & Technical Inspection
I conducted and supported inspections focused on critical compliance and safety items, including:
- Vehicle weight, ride height, bodywork condition, restrictor seals, and engine components across competing classes.
- Camber angle verification in alignment with competition guidelines.
- Pirelli tire allocation verification before and after on-track sessions to confirm adherence to tire usage rules.
Reporting and Team Coordination
To support race control operations and ensure consistent enforcement:
- Verified livery and sponsor compliance prior to vehicles entering practice sessions.
- Delivered pit stop reports to Race Control and the Stewards, and communicated official messages to teams clearly and accurately.
- Supervised team personnel during vehicle disassembly inspections, ensuring procedures were executed safely and in accordance with regulations.
Result
This experience strengthened my ability to operate in regulated motorsport environments, execute inspections with consistency and professionalism, and contribute to safe, fair competition through disciplined compliance checks and precise communication with officials and teams.
